How to install Windows XP after installing Windows Vista

This trick will help you to install Windows XP if you have installed Windows Vista first. Suppose you have installed Windows Vista in drive C and you need Windows XP in D drive,then do the following.
  • Perform a clean install of Windows Xp by booting from Xp setup CD.
  • Boot from Windows Vista DVD and select regional settings then click next.
  • Select Repair your Computer,then it will detect Windows Vista’s partition and repair all types of problems which caused boot problems in Vista.
  • Click on Repair button OR then choose Startup Repair option.
  • Restart and boot into Windows Vista and run CMD (as Administrator) and execute the following commands one by one.
  1. bcdedit /create {ntldr} /d “Earlier version of Windows”
  2. bcdedit /set {ntldr} device boot
  3. bcdedit /set {ntldr} path \ntldr
  4. bcdedit /displayorder {ntldr} /addlast

Reboot the computer now . Now you will see both the versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista in the boot menu.
